2.28 secret

The idea behind today’s Secret Widget is that “to attract money, you must focus on wealth.”

This means:

Don’t focus on how you are going to pay your bills.

Don’t focus on being broke.

Don’t focus on the problem.

Use the law of attraction by focusing on creating wealth. Look for solutions to the problem and believe.  If you start focusing on bring wealth into your life and creating a plan to bring wealth into your life. The money will begin to flow in. The more you implement your strategic wealth generating plan, the more money will flow through the doors.

“The Secret”

My introduction to the book “The Secret” was very serendipitous. I had a good friend tell me about the book and how she had bought a copy for her daughter. She said she was applying the concepts to her life and was seeing results. “You really should check it out.”

A week went by and I went to a Brad Sugars event in Phoenix. I was sitting next to a crabby mechanic who really wasn’t there to better his business. Anyways about 10 minutes into the seminar, he leans over and says, “It sounds like that movie, The Secret. You know the one?” The what?

Then a few minutes later in the seminar Brad Sugars say, “I know you are all thinking of The Secret.” He went on to explain his theory on how dreaming + action = goal.

There I was three times in a matter of a week being told about The Secret. I looked it up on Netflix and there it was. Clicked. 3 days later, I lie in bed watching The Secret.

The wheels in my head started to turn. Was I really creating the frustrations in my life? Was the law of attraction real? Was Brad Sugars right about dreaming and applying?

I found out yes. The law of attraction is real. The mind is everything. It makes us who we are. The number one thing that attracts us to the opposite sex is the mind. So I started using mine to start creating a life I dreamed of.

Every day I look at my Secret widget and learn how to apply the law of attraction to my life.

Rambling Cowgirl’s Journey, Part 2

By 13, I knew I was on to something with the herbs and staying healthy, but my world crashed as my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer. So I was back to going to the doctors all the time, but not for myself. The nurses must take pity on the kids that hang around the chemo treatment rooms because they taught me all kinds of cool things like how to read blood counts, the types of chemo treatments, taking vital stats and more. I learned more by hanging out at the doctors then I was missing in school.

After two years of watching my grandmother struggle, she finely went to the blues concert in the sky. Just over a year later, I was up visiting with my great-aunt that was also sickly. I tripped on a rug and my right shin exploded in pain. And the trips back to the doctor started all over again.

The doctors performed test after expensive, painful, boring test after another. They couldn’t figure out what was causing the problem. I was in horrible pain for six months taking pain killers trying to get some relief. They did an MRI and called me to come back right away. Come to find out, there was nothing wrong with my shin, but I had a couple herniated disc in my spine.

Then it was more doctors trying to figure out what to do with a 16 year old with a lot of damage to her spine. (Caring for my grandmother caused most of the problems.) They talked about fusing my back together. It was pretty scary and there was a lot of decisions being made. They put me into physical therapy which consisted of exercise, massage, traction and electro-stimulation. I shocked everyone by maxing out the electro-stimulation machine and barely felt anything. Months went by without improvement.

Somewhere in here, I had started getting involved with horses and it was quickly taking over my life, but I was still pretty crippled and very bitter. My physical therapist recommended I ride more as it would be great for my back. I still hurt like crazy, but I started riding more. I met a really great chiropractor through this. I decided to give him a try to fix my back. “What could it hurt?,” I told my parents. (I had been to a chiropractor before, but it didn’t really do much.) The doctor nailed my problem right off the bat and within a couple weeks my shin no longer hurt.

I was on the mend and exploring a new path within my life, horses. I realized that “alternative medicine” fixed in a few weeks what modern medicine took months to find.

Rambling Cowgirl’s Start in Holistic, Part 1

Many people don’t know why I got involved with homeopathic care. So I thought I’d clue you in………I found long ago, the only way to tell a story is to start at the beginning.

As a child growing up in Michigan, I was always sick. (You name it. I got it: sinus infections, colds, flu, chicken pox.) I was the kid that missed half a year of school because of being sick. I had literal growing pains that were excruciating. (Even though medical doctors don’t believe in “growing pains.”) With all that said, I was always at the doctor’s office getting some kind of drug or another to make me feel better. My immune system was shot from too many antibiotics.

One of my friend’s mother was always giving me herbs to fix me. They didn’t work over night, but I did find that the probiotics, garlic, bee pollen , Vitamin C and more were all working. By the time I was 13, I all but about refused to go see a doctor unless I was injured.

This was the beginning of my journey to homeopathic care. I have come a long ways from the kid who was just handed random herbal products to feel better. I am know the person constantly trying to get people to take or do something to fix their aliments.

In Part 2, I will tell you about a large turning point in my life in general, but it also pushed me to more styles of alternative medicine.

Horse Worming Program

Do you have a regular horse worming programme in place? Do you know the best traditional and alternative horse worming products?

It is very important to worm you horse a minimum of 4 times a year on a rough outline program. Meaning… Spring thaw, summer, first frost and winter. Spring thaw and winter frost are important as the larvae and eggs are typically killed upon excretion. It is highly recommended to use Ivermection at these points in the year as it is a broad based wormer.

As to what to worm with… While there is the healthy me and the practice business person that argue back and  forth. Wormers are poison that we give our animals to poison worms. This is very hard on their bodies and organs. There are many different are natural alternatives that work well too. Personally, I use traditional wormers as I have a large herd of horses that change on a regular basis. This is just practical business since. Now for a person that doesn’t get new horses regularly or come in contact with new horses a lot, a natural wormer is much healthier and safer for your horse.

You will see the traditional worming schedule that says to use 2 to 3 different types of wormer on a rotation bases. Daily wormers are obnoxious and unnecessary. Although several of my vets are of the same conclusion, there is nothing on the market as good as Ivermectin. As to date, no worms have created an immunity to the product and works on most life stages of different types of worms. This making the use of other based wormers obsolete.

It does not work on tape worms though. That is where Praziquantel comes in. The tape worm killer. If you buy Equimax Wormer, then you kill all the worms. (You only need to use a combination wormer like this 2 times per year. I also recommend using this style products 2 times a year in a alternative horse worming program.)

*If it is questionable when they were last wormed, then I recommend doing a dose of Equimax and in two weeks a dose of straight ivermectin. If you have animal with a sever cause of worms, do a half dose of Ivermection wait a couple days and give other half. Killing a large batch of worms at once can cause colic. Also use package direction for mare in foal and young livestock

Alternative Horse Worming Program

Silver Lining Herbs has an Herbal Wormer, that works great. As herbal/natural wormers are less toxic to your horse’s body you can use more regular than 4 times a year. Garlic is a miracle worker in horses. It is great for keeping worms at bay and has an added bonus of deterring flies. I know several people that use the old farmers trick of feeding an animal tobacco. Yes this is an effective technique too.

It is your choice of the type of wormer you would like to use in your horse worming program, but be sure to have a regular program in place. Worming is a necessary evil to keep our horses in top health. Also be sure to have manure maintenance plan in place to keep down on breeding your own worms.
